📧I received a lovely message from one of my students recently. At the beginning of the year, they had planned to “do just enough to pass the degree and move on.”
💡 During one of our in-person lectures, I spoke about aiming for a 1:1 and about the value of a degree as something you carry forward into your career.
The student told me that conversation stayed with them:
📢 “I left that lecture determined to put in as much effort as I could and to aim for the highest grade possible.”
And they did.
They achieved their 1:1. 🎓
🩷 So good to get messages like this. It made me smile to think of that positive outcome.
For many people, returning to education as an adult is something they will only do once. Life is usually already busy, and fitting study around work, family and everything else isn’t easy.
That makes getting the best result you can so worthwhile. The qualification has value and currency, but the sense of achievement that comes with knowing you gave it your best is huge.
👋 Congratulations to this student, and to everyone who decided to come back as an adult learner and give education a go.
