π I got a note this week that made me smile.
π I got a note this week that made me smile.
πJack MacNamara was in my Talent Acquisition module during his final year in DCU and has allowed me to share his note:
π βI was never academically gifted, however after taking your module, I received a 1:1 and was only 3% shy of a first overall in my final year, which is something I will be forever proud of.β
π Jack you absolutely should be.
You put your head down, worked hard and achieved an excellent result.
π©· There was another part of your message that I loved.
You had an interest in HR, Recruitment and Talent Acquisition and is now working full-time in a graduate role in Recruitment and HR Reporting.
π’βA huge part of that decision to continue in this field was due to your lectures and advice from your module.β
π©· That means a lot to me.
I want students to do well academically, of course, but for me teaching has always been about more than the module or the result. Itβs about getting to know the person in front of you, helping them recognise what they are capable of and encouraging them to see possibilities for themselves that they may not have seen before.
π Jack, you deserve all the credit for what you have achieved.
π Thank you for taking the time to come back and tell me. I was delighted to have played a small part in the journey.
