π From the desert sunset to grey skies!π
πThis time last week my view was the desert sunset, a slight change this week to return to grey skies….
Change can feel challenging, similar to the density of the fog and the harsh terrain of the desert. Both are challenging and no doubt some days will feel clouded with doubt or confusion.
Good news is the sun sets and the cloud lifts, and new opportunities arise. Hard to see that at times, but they happen!
Some tips to work through the tough bits!
π1. Acknowledge the FogβItβs Normal to Feel Uncertain – Take your time with this bit, it’s so important to find the right path forward.
π2. Set specific, actionable goals that guide you through the transition. re you seeking a new role, a different industry, or a step up in your career? Breaking this down into smaller, actionable steps will help you move from uncertainty to clarity.
π3. Identify Your Transferable Skills – the skills and experiences you’ve accumulated in your previous roles often hold more value than you realise.
π4. Tailor your CV and LinkedIn profile to highlight the transferable skills and experiences that align with the roles you’re targeting.
π5. Build a Network – Reach out to professionals in your target industry. Find mentors or peers who have successfully navigated similar transitions.
π6. Stay Resilient – A career transition is a process; it wonβt last forever. Some days will feel clouded with doubt or confusion, but if you stay focused on your goals, you will begin to see the way forward.
So many people find career change hard, and it is, but it is also very rewarding and worthwhile. Be resilient, expect different landscapes and different experiences good and bad, but stay with it!
